How to Use Mtrader
The platform has a large library of indicators;
realistically, you won't use them all, and you're unlikely to use even 10% of
them. But they are available if you require them. The global MT4 community
creates and distributes them.
MT4 allows you to customize your charts, trade different lot sizes, and trade
different instruments.
It can also be used to develop and deploy your own
automated trading strategies. Allow it to do the heavy lifting for you.
Create an account
First and foremost, you
must create an account. It can be a demo or a live account, but you'll need one
to begin using MT4. After you create an account, you will receive your MT4
login information.
Select Your Markets
You can use your MT4
platform to trade a variety of markets, including FX, equity indices,
commodities, and individual stocks. Spread betting and CFD trading are other
possibilities. To access the list of instruments, go to 'View,' then 'Symbols,'
or use the shortcut 'Ctrl-U.' This section contains a list of symbols that you
can add to your market watch window. Then, simply drag the symbol to the chart
to view the wanted price chart.
Create Your
Charts
MT4 includes a number of tools for customizing and personalizing your trading
charts.
Here you can change the time frame.
Objects can be drawn on the chart.
You can format your charts to make them easier to
read by using colour or chart type.
You can have multiple charts open at once.
Indicators
should be added.
Indicators can be added to your MT4 charts Some
popular indicators include MACD, moving averages, pivot points, the stochastic
oscillator. To
add a trading indicator to your charts, simply drag it from the navigator
window and drop it on the chart. A pop-up window will appear where you can customize the
indicators.
You can also add indicators using the menu bar.
Select indicators from the drop-down menu after clicking Insert.
To edit or remove an indicator, right-click within
the chart window and select 'indicators list.' A new window with a list of all
active indicators on the chart appears. Select an indicator from the list, then
edit or delete its settings.
Set Up Alerts
Setting up a price alert is simple. By pressing
CTRL+T on your keyboard and selecting the 'Alerts' tab, you can open the
Terminal window at the bottom of the screen.
Right-click inside this window and choose 'Create'
from the menu; the alert editor window is where you configure your price alert.
Within the price alert window, you can set a price
movement alert for a market or select a specific time alert if the price
reaches a certain level. You can specify a 'Expiry' date, which is when the
alert will expire.
Fill out all of the required information about the
alert you want to set, then click 'OK' to prime the alert. The alerts you
create are listed in the platform's alerts tab.
